Welcome to Core Awakenings!  Come join us in our peaceful funfilled studio for strength building workout classes or learn to increase your flexibility and reduce stress in an "AIS" stretching class.  
 
What if I haven't exercised in a long time?
No problem. Everyone goes through the classes at their own pace. No routines to stay in rhthym with, just move at your own pace. Classes will be as challenging as you decide to make them.
 
Instructors who care about you and your well being walk you through each exercise and help you to notice compensation patterns and learn correct techniques to perform exercises safely and efficiently.
 
What if I can't find the time to fit exercising into my schedule?
The good news is with this program, you can see results even if you come to just one two hour class per week. That's right! ONE CLASS will definitely lead you to some amazing improvements.
In today's fast paced, stressed filled society, making time to exercise becomes challenging and is easily left behind for "more important things" to do. In the long run we all know deep down that exercising gives you more energy to give to others as well as maintaining or improving your health. Making good healthy choices to exercise now will help to improve the possibilities of living a longer life in better physical condition than without exercise. Let's all make the right choice. 
 
Which class is right for me?
We recommend that most of our clients should take stretching classes before starting in a strength building class.   At Core Awakenings, we incorporate Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) techniques and Assisted Stretching techniques into our stretching classes. At the close of each stretching class, relaxation therapy techniques utilizing deep breathing will usually trigger your body into a deep relaxation response. A lot of people with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia have not had a good nights sleep in months. We have had several testimonies from people who take a class and for the first time in years, they go home and have a wonderful restful night.
 
When should I start strength training? If you feel you have improved your range of motion in the stretching classes, we then recommend that you add strength training to your regiment so that you will be able to strengthen postural muscles that are usually weak so that you will be able to maintain your body in proper alignment with gravity. Our strengthening routines can be applied to a broad range of people from athletes in their prime to senior citizens.

The wellness center is in the beautiful & peaceful Sautee-Nacoochee Valley in the Northeast Georgia mountains. We find the environment here to be conducive to a relaxed and receptive state of mind, so important in our practice and teaching.
